Reviews and Ratings
The hotel room was like a mini apartment, lovely, contained everything we needed, and had a lot of character giving us privacy from the kids. The service was extremely helpful. The location, however, has changed significantly with increased homelessness, public urination, and an undesirable neighborhood. The dining experience was extremely limited, more like a snack bar. The facilities were decent but could use improvement.
Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, while adequate in size for our small family, were not worth the extra money for a 'nicer' option. The local community's attitude towards the hotel was noticeable. The service was exceptional, with a cool themed night during our stay, and helpful staff at the front desk. The location was unbeatable, just meters from the vibrant Venice beach, but the building itself needed maintenance. The dining options left something to be desired, though the bubbly for DIY mimosas was a nice touch. Overall, the facilities were decent, but a revamp in certain areas was needed.
Ellison Suites is a gem! The rooms had all the kitchen amenities we needed, a unique pull-out double bed, and a bathroom that added character to a quiet building. Nice experience overall at the Ellison Suites.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of great location and some room for improvement. The rooms were very comfortable, though cleanliness could be better, and having a shower in the bathtub with a plastic curtain wasn't the best. Being spacious like a studio apartment with a kitchen, bedroom, and living room was a nice touch. The service was amazing and helpful, but being at the ground floor, it felt a bit underground with not the best air and smell in the rooms, with Eduardo the manager standing out for his welcoming attitude. The location was good, very close to the beach, but the surroundings had a bit of a downside with many homeless around at night. The dining experience was simple but charming, especially on the roof terrace with an ocean view. Overall, a good stay with some areas that could be enhanced.
My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The location is amazing, right by the beach and close to many restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable, equipped with modern appliances. The services were exceptional, with staff willing to go above and beyond. However, the inviting patio area outside the rooms was a plus for relaxing with a glass of wine. The beach proximity was a highlight, but the presence of a homeless population made me feel a bit uneasy.
Staying at this historic building was a unique experience. The rooms, with their character and features, looked exactly like the photos, flooded with natural light and ocean breeze. However, the lighting could be better to avoid misleading impressions. The service was top-notch, with kind and friendly staff ensuring a pleasant stay, although the promised ocean view room wasn't entirely as expected. The location, close to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier, offered a vibrant atmosphere but also had some homeless presence. The dining experience, despite the lovely view, had room for improvement, especially with the outdoor setting lacking seating. The facilities were sufficient, catering to the basic needs of guests.
The hotel has so much history and quaint charm, but the rooms were dark and didn't look clean. While the photos may appear modern, the reality was much different. Despite these drawbacks, the service was exceptional, going beyond the usual expectations, with kind and helpful staff. The location, though near the beach with an upgrade option, felt unsafe due to its associations with a dodgy area. Dining, despite the relaxed setting, lacked sitting areas for the balcony breakfast. The facilities were lacking, leading to mixed feelings about value for money.
I had such a marvelous time at the hotel! The rooms were roomy, clean, and quiet, and that fantastic ocean view was my favorite part. The service was amazing, especially thanks to Eduardo who made sure our stay was perfect. The location was great overall, though there were some issues with homeless individuals camping on the beach at night. The dining experience was small but sufficient, and I enjoyed the breakfast on the rooftop. The facilities were top-notch, making my stay even more enjoyable.
Staying at this hotel has been such an amazing surprise! The rooms are so nice, and you can't beat how close it is to the beach. The location is really well situated just behind Venice Beach and the boardwalk, offering a great experience. However, the service was a bit hit and miss as the staff felt inexperienced. Despite this, the hotel's fantastic proximity to the beach and Santa Monica truly shines through.
My stay at this hotel was a mixed bag. The rooms were super close to the beach, cozy, and had a lovely patio area for enjoying meals or a glass of wine. The service was very helpful and went above and beyond, especially Ashley from Ohio. The location had its ups and downs, with some quirky elements but steps to the beach and close to convenient spots like Whole Foods market. The dining experience was hit and miss, but the Thai dishes were a treat.
